Reading Device Info: CPU, memory, storage and battery

Updated Oct 24, 20261 min read

The device page shows a few readings that come from your laptop. Here is what each one means.

  • CPU: the processor, the laptop's brain. A high number means it is working hard right now. It is normal for it to go up when you open big programs.
  • Memory: the space for things you are using right now. When it stays almost full for a long time, the laptop slows down.
  • Storage: the drive that keeps your files and programs. Keep some free space so the laptop can work smoothly.
  • Battery: how much charge is left, and how worn the battery is. Every battery wears slowly over time.

One high reading for a moment is normal. The app and the health score only react to things that last for hours.

If a reading says there is no data, the laptop has not reported it yet. Nothing is made up.
