What an alert means and what to do

Updated Oct 24, 20261 min read

An alert appears when your device has a problem that needs attention. Open the Alert tab on your device to read it. Each alert tells you what is happening and what to do next.

Common alerts

  • Memory use is high: your laptop has used nearly all its memory for hours, so it can feel slow. Close programs you do not use, or ask the shop about adding memory.
  • Low storage space: there is very little free space on the drive. Delete files you do not need or move photos and videos elsewhere.
  • Battery wear or low battery: the battery holds less charge than before. The shop can check if it needs replacing.
  • Running hot or slowing down: the laptop is too warm. Put it on a hard flat surface and keep the vents clear.
  • Drive problem or repeated crashes: take it to the shop soon and save your important files if you can.

What you can tap

  • Got it: tells the app you have seen it. A serious (critical) alert is not cleared by this; it clears only when the problem is gone or the shop resolves it.
  • Snooze for 1 day or 1 week: stops notifications for that alert for a while. Critical alerts cannot be snoozed.

When the problem goes away, the alert closes by itself.

Not sure what an alert means? Message or call the shop.
